Somatic relates to our bodies... and our bodies store our experiences all the way through our lives.
By tapping into this store of embodied knowledge we can access ways to organise and re-organise our lived experience consciously.
As a somatic body oriented coach my practice and process develops in an integrative... non directional... experiential way... trusting you and your body to take some time to orient... relax... listening to what your body is telling you... working on how you wish to relate this information to the conscious choices you make in your life, work and play.
Working this way aims to support you to investigate what it is that you feel and experience in the here and now.
Becoming able to identify what shape you are in... how you manage your responses to all the busy stimuli around you... helps you live in the present and in loving presence with yourself.
There are many documentaries made and books published in the last decade that describe how the science of psychology, physiology and neurology interact and how our bodies store experience, trauma and set responses to perceived threats and opportunities for connection.

All of these people have helped me shape the ways I work, both in one to one and group settings.
If you have ever wondered;
"Why did I do that?"
"Why can't I manage my responses sometimes?"
Then you may find some support through working with somatic coaching.
Many of us have been raised in communities where it is assumed that if we think better, think brighter... then we can work out how to live better... after many years of coaching I have become aware that when we move from thinking in our heads... towards feeling in our bodies... we start to ask different questions... from here we can consider possibilities previously unreachable.
My somatic coaching may not change your life... you may however... find that with my support... you are more able to tune into and listen to your body.
Once we are listening to our body... we are much more able to deal with making good choices around how we live.
Working through long stored trauma that disables our abilities to relax... trust and connect... can often open up all sorts of positive options that we have previously ignored... avoided... and denied ourselves.
Body oriented coaching can help us find the wisdom in trauma... the joy in releasing old and buried anxieties... the peace of being in connection with our bodies and feeling comfortable here.
I have found my learning around this work a revelation... and look forwards to sharing my skills and knowledge in somatic body oriented coaching with you.
